Catholic Novena to culminate on Obama inauguration day 2009
Take away skin colour and thousands around the world who are now adoring US President elect Barack Obama may push him off the Palm Sunday donkey and onto the Good Friday cross, as the incoming leader of the United States of America is totally pro-abortion and fully supports gay and lesbian rights to marriage and other "choices" currently unavailable to them in that country.Catholic faithful around the world were urged on Sunday, through a globally-circulating e-mail being read out during the announcements at the end of Mass, to take upon themselves a Novena - a nine-day commitment to pray the Rosary, to stop the passage of the Freedom of Choice Act, expected to get the new President's full support when it hits the US Congress this year.
Though Obama is not specifically mentioned, the e-mail sent by one Fr. Tom, asks Catholics and non-Catholics to pray for nine days starting from Sunday, January 11, 2009 to prevent the bill from passage. On the last day of the Novena, January 20th, Obama's inauguration takes place on Capitol hill in Washington.
However, Catholics may not be the only group praying for the pro-abortion act to fail. Obama's Muslim name will be of no use should Islamic leaders decide to call upon their faithful to reach for the Misbaha or Tasbih, prayer beads, as Islam is also strongly against homosexuality, abortion and unnatural forms of contraception. So far, however, no such call is known to have been made.
