CARICOM SG to check out Trinidad & Tobago's readiness for CHOGM 2009
Prime Minister Patrick Manning considers Trinidad and Tobago’s hosting of the 21st Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, like the Fifth Summit of the Americas, as a CARICOM initiative. Therefore, when Mr. Carrington meets with the National Secretariat on Monday, it is expected that he will put forward the issues, pertinent to CARICOM, for discussion at CHOGM.
The Secretary General is also a key speaker at the Commonwealth Business Forum on board the Serenade of the Seas Cruise Ship. The aim of the Forum which takes place from November 23-26, 2009 is to focus on the position of the Caribbean within the wider world economy. As a result Dr. Carrington will speak on the topic, “The Caribbean- A Place to do Business”.
