Steelpan Exhibition beefed up for Carnival
The Culture Division of the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs has reintroduced its pan exhibition series entitled “Evolution of the Steel Pan and Pan in Art Exhibition” at the National Museum at Fort San Andres in South Quay. It comes in the heart of the current Carnival season and the schedule of activities is as follows:Pan Exhibition (including pan playing demonstration) – started today and runs until Thursday February 4, 2010 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Pan Kaiso After Work Lime – takes place this Friday February 5, 2010 and will include performances from Kelly Green and Harmony, Anslem Douglas, De Fosto, Chucky, Crazy and MC Sheldon John. Doors open at 5.00 pm, showtime: 6.00 pm.
Pan Exhibition (including pan playing demonstration) – Saturday February 6, 2010 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
Pan on “D” Fort II featuring PCS Silver Stars and Pantastics Steel Orchestra on Sunday February 7, 2010. Doors open at 5.00 pm, showtime: 6.00 pm.
Exhibition closed on Monday February 8, 2010.
Pan Exhibition (including pan playing demonstration) – Tuesday February 9 and Wednesday February 10, 2010 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
After Work Vintage Lime – takes place on Thursday February 11, 2010 with performances by Ewart Serrant, Surpriser, Brown Boy, Black Sage and David Bereaux and Friends. Doors open at 5.00 pm, showtime: 6.00 pm.
