    Kaiso House continues to draw large crowds

    The Cast of Kaiso House Calypso Tent for 2010 continues to please as crowds of both local and foreign visitors participate in the full compliment of social commentary, political commentary and humour which is being offerred by the compositions of the cast for this year.

    Kaiso House has emerged as one of the frontline venues for the performance of Calypso music in the Carnival season over the last decade. The tent was officially opened on Wednesday January 13, 2010 to a packed audience, some of which had to be turn back at the door due to overcrowding on opening night. Since then, patrons have been actively visiting the Tent, mainly through 'word of mouth' to get their fill of not only good calypso, but also a fair share of comedy which Masters of Ceremony - Tommy Joseph and Sheldon John have been offering.

    Backed by renowned band - Cummings and the Whalers as well as Martin Cain on steelpan, and the Kaiso House Jewels for chorus, the Kaiso House Cast which consists of twenty nine calypsonians continue to present renditions of a high standard. Eight members of the Cast have since qualified for the semi finals round for the National Calypso Monarch Competition to be held at the Dimanche Gras on Carnival Sunday night and will appear at the Calypso Fiesta this coming Saturday, February 6th at Skinner's Park, San Fernando.

    They are:
    - Singing Sandra;
    - Bro. Valentino;
    - Gypsy;
    - Twiggy;
    - Mr Chucky;
    - Dee Diamond;
    - Brian London; and
    - Mistah Shak

    Kaiso House Calypso Tent is opened to the public daily at the Strand Building on the corner of Tragarete Road and Dundonald Street, Port of Spain.

    Showtime is 8:00 pm. Admission to various shows at the Tent range from as low as TT$80 and TT$120.00
