Trinidad and Tobago expecting more rains

The Meteorological Service has advised through its 9:00 a.m. Information Bulletin that the Inter-Tropical Convergence continues to be over Trinidad and Tobago in patches. Another fast moving Tropical Wave is scheduled to traverse the twin islands later today. Together these systems will produce unstable environmental conditions to yield showers and isolated thundershowers. The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) underscored that at this time Trinidad and Tobago is not under any tropical storm threat, watch or warning.
Although most of the flood waters have receded the flood alerts are being held as a precautionary measure given stated forecast conditions. Landslides/landslips alerts remain relevant and therefore are in effect.
Residents in areas concerned are advised to maintain vigilance and continue to take appropriate measures to preserve life and property. Citizens are also advised to exercise caution as they conduct their daily activities.
Persons who have fallen victim to hazardous impacts (flooding or soil movement/landslides), should contact the regional corporation for their area or the ODPM at 800 ODPM.
The situation is being monitored and the public will be advised accordingly.
